What to Look for in a Good Yorkipoo Meal
Most Yorkipoos should be able to eat any good quality dog food. Neither the Yorkshire Terrier nor the Poodle are known to be particularly susceptible to food allergies, so this is probably not a problem for your Yorkipoo, at least not from a genetic point of view. (Every dog is an individual, so it is always possible that a dog may have a bad reaction to something he eats or to an ingredient in his food.) Yorkshire Terriers can have sensitive digestion, so this might be something to consider with your Yorkipoo.
Because Yorkipoos are so small, many dog foods will be more affordable than if your dog weighed 150 pounds. You can give him a kibble, wet or canned food, or fresh, freeze-dried food.
There are many good foods made especially for small or tiny dogs. Very small dogs consume more calories per pound, even when resting than larger dogs. Small dog foods tend to provide more calories per ounce, so small dogs can consume a lot of calories and nutrients even when consuming small portions of food.
