Every dog owner has wondered why dogs do that and if it’s normal. The good news is, it is normal. The bad news is that they are lacking a selected nutrient in their diet, trying to enhance their digestion, or even trying to treat intestinal worms (worst case scenario). If it’s a hot day, they’ll just be dehydrated.
